Council of Community Services' staff member earns the Certified Volunteer Management Credential.

Alison Jorgensen, Director of Volunteer Services, at the Council of Community Services has earned the CVA (Certified in Volunteer Administration) credential. Certified in Volunteer Administration (CVA) is the only international professional certification in the field of volunteer resources management. Originally developed by the Association for Volunteer Administration (AVA) several decades ago, the program is now sponsored by the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration (CCVA). The CVA credential reflects mastery of the knowledge required of practitioners in this field as measured through an exam and peer assessment process.

Mrs. Jorgensen has also been appointed to the Governor’s Advisory Board on National and Community Service. The Governor's Advisory Board on National and Community Service is an advisory board established by Governor Timothy Kaine. The Governor's Advisory Board communicates with the Governor and Cabinet Secretaries on national and community service programs in Virginia.
