As Executive Directors, we tend many things. We tend our "call", the passion that energizes us. We tend our "community", the inspiration that stirs us. How often do we tend our greatest gift -- ourselves?

"A Place Apart" is an invitation to rest. On a Friday afternoon, in the peaceful setting of the Lifestream Center, we'll discover how to live from a center of rest, rather than stress. We'll explore practical ways of creating balance in our inner and outer lives. And, we'll carry away gifts to continue nurturing ourselves, while strengthening the work we care about so deeply.

This retreat is an invitation, for executive directors only, to come apart for awhile, so we don't "come apart".

Facilitator:  Joe Cobb

Joe is an experienced Executive Director in non-profit human service agencies, including the Interfaith Hospitality Network in Roanoke. As an ordained clergy in the Metropolitan Community Churches, Joe understands the value of caring for self as essential to caring for others.
